Baptist Pound Cake

Ingredients

3 c. sugar

1 stick butter/margarine

1/2 c. Crisco

5 eggs

3 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 t. baking powder

pinch salt

1 c. milk

1 t. vanilla

1 T. vanilla, butter and nut flavoring

Directions

Beat together shortening, butter, and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each.
Sift flour, baking power and salt together and add alternately with milk to first mixture.
Add flavorings.
Grease and flour Bundt pan (or 10 inch. tube pan or large loaf pan).
Pour mixture into pan.
Place in cold oven; turn heat to 350 and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes (or until cake tests done).
Let stand 3 to 5 minutes before removing from pan.
